Stick-em-up

Mixa StickersHenry is wearing the latest MIXA stickers that come totally free when you buy a wonderful MIXA. Henry likes reading, Pina Coladas, long walks in the park, Tuesdayssubversive cross-stitch and generally being awesome

A thank you to MIXA friends worldwide!

If MIXA was a person it would probably be like Cliff Richard in that classic sixties film “Summer Holiday”, driving around in a big red double-decker bus spreading love and happiness all over this little planet.  Quite how a MIXA would reach the pedals or even steer a bus, well, they’re just silly logistical details but who cares when Una Stubbs, is wigglin’ her hips in that stripey, ever so cool top and getting everyone into the party mood. Health and Safety? In your face! So to all our global friends we say…

Danke, 谢谢, Grazie, Efharisto, Merci, Obrigado, Dank u, 당신을 감사하십시오, Gracias, Hvala, Kiitos, Taak, Makasih, Arigato, Diolch, ありがとう, Komapsumnida, Dziekuje

Thank you everyone. One day we’ll all meet up and have a big tea party with scones and jam and cream and maybe some of those sports biscuits. Yeah sports biscuits rule.

MIXA version 2 - On the good foot

It’s very rare that a sequel is better than the original. Jaws 2 springs to mind. Well actually it was kind of OK but a poor imitation compared to the classic original. And then there’s Staying Alive - the sequel to Saturday Night Fever. It even had music written by Sly Stallone’s brother - no wonder the Bee Gees decided to pass on it.

However there occasionally can be exceptions to the rule. The new version of MIXA is one of them.

James Brown has a slide. We wanted MIXA to have one too. After all, who are we to argue with the Godfather of Soul? So now we have full-on USB sliding in and out action. One minute it’s there, the next it’s hiding away all cosy and warm inside the lovely textured shell. Take it to the bridge.

We’ve also introduced super sexy coloured MIXAs, the first of which is a stunning turquoise. The first time we saw it was kind of like when Dorothy landed in Oz. Only without the Munchkins or the body of a dead wicked witch.

The box the MIXA arrives in has had a complete makeover too. It’s so drop-dead gorgeous you might actually shed a tear - or pee yourself. Personally I’d go with the first option as it saves on dry cleaning and is generally less embarrassing for all concerned.

It’s available right now and we can’t wait for you to hold it in your lovely perfectly formed hands.

The French adore le MIXA!

“Zut alors!” we cried when French ELLE got in touch this month to request a MIXA to feature in the June edition of their oh-so-chic magazine. The magazine will be out early next month so we’ll be beating a path to the nearest newsagent in anticipation – or er, waiting for our regular subscription to land on the doormat. Like you do!

We are officially hip (in Spain)

For those not in the know (and that was us as well) TENDENCIAS is a very cool Spanish magazine that features the latest trends in design, archictecture, fashion and music across Europe. Needless to say, the minute news of MIXA reached Madrid they got in touch to ask if they could feature it on the pages of their esteemed publication. Si Señor we said! (or Señora in actual fact) The next edition will be out next month so any MIXA amigos in Spain should keep an eye out for it. The very nice TENDENCIAS website is updated for each new edition and worth checking out in its own right.

MIXA makes its TV debut

MIXA has been reaching new audiences with an appearance on German TV-Show RTL2news which is watched by around 3 million viewers. Featured as part of a report on the Mix Tape renaissance, it was a case of blink-and-you-miss it but we still wiped a proud tear from our eye when we saw our little MIXA’s TV debut…hopefully the start of many more!

Now with added Flickr goodness!

We’re pleased to announce that you can now use all your lovely photos from Flickr when creating your Mixa design! Yay! Just click on the Flickr tab in the Mixa Maka, then just follow the instructions. Then in two shakes of a lambs tail you’ll be lovin’ it Flickr style!

From Oprah to Playboy!

We always knew MIXA was cool but now it seems the whole world thinks so too. So far MIXA has been featured on hundreds of blogs from Wired to wedding portals and loads of magazines including Stuff, Playstation, GQ’s holiday gift guide (next to Prada), Oprah’s magazine and our personal fave - Estonian Playboy! We’ve shipped MIXA love far and wide, from Anchorage to Auckland. Right now we’re busy working on new MIXA developments for later this year. Stay tuned!
